This would definitely go on Kim's 100 Years... 100 Movies List
1. To Kill a Mockingbird
Wonderful on every level, a story of family and quiet heroism is about as close to perfect as it gets.
2. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
A movie I could watch again and again. Infinitely quotable.
3. Singin' in the Rain
Upbeat, colorful and delightful with phenomenal dancing and singing. It will make you happy.
4. Toy Story
I want to have Pixar's babies.
5. Some Like It Hot
If I watch this again a time or two, it might move up.
6. The Graduate
Funny and singular, this is the type of film I could watch over and over and find something new to appreciate each time.
7. Jaws
Tense, scary and always a blast to watch. One of the more impacting and memorable movies I've ever seen.
8. Sunset Boulevard
Almost a horror story and occasionally a black comedy, this film explores fading stardom and Hollywood's attitudes toward those left behind.
9. It's a Wonderful Life
Darker than you think, and a really fine character study.
10. Titanic
A heartbreaking love story and a movie that changed the way things are done in the movie industry. It's not perfect, but I have a fondness for the film.
11. The Philadelphia Story
Funny, witty, and completely different than the standard rom-com trope. Still works remarkably well today, and even feels ahead of its time.
12. A Clockwork Orange
A rather brilliant take on what it means to be "good". It may have lost a bit of luster over the years, but I still regard it highly.
13. Chinatown
Brilliant noir film, with an unexpected story and fabulous performances.
14. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Darker and more cynical than you'd expect, with bravura performances.
15. High Noon
If you think you know Westerns, this one will turn everything you thought you knew on its head.

Wouldn't make Kim's 100 Years... 100 Movies list, but she can see why the AFI chose it
16. A Night at the Opera
*Very* funny, but feels much more like a series of sketches than a fully contained film.
17. A Streetcar Named Desire
Tough to watch the worst parts of humanity, but extremely well-acted and multi-layered.
18. Saving Private Ryan
A fine war movie with a lot to recommend it, but it's not the kind of thing I'd get excited about watching again.
19. Yankee Doodle Dandy
I love this movie, but I think it's a bit slight to be included amongst such heavyweights.
20. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
My nine-year-old self likes this movie more than my current self.
21. Psycho
There's so much to recommend this film, and yet I still find it wanting somehow. It's just not for me.
22. King Kong
Hugely impacting to be sure, but it's a bit boring and doesn't hold up as well as I'd remembered it did.
